Hunting for Hunts Home(Continued with Hunt)

After eating her meal at the club, Ainariel slid her payment in to the folded bill that she had received, plus a generous tip for the water that had seemed to be more than eager to please his guests in whatever manner they wished. This club, it seemed, was very good at what they did, and that was, pleasing guests.
The slight girl then walked from the Club back out into the cool night of Suddenly, she looked around and drew in a nice long breath and smiled. A lot of people might have been a bit skittish about running about again in the night after being near killed by one of its predators, but not her, she had all but pushed the earlier encounter out of her mind, had it not been for her meeting that interesting male, she might have forgotten about it completely, but she had and now, she had a little home hunting to attend to.
She stepped out onto the cobbled street and began to walk through the square, her feet made no sound as she looked about. Her emerald orbs seeing things that others perhaps could not, her Elvin ears picking up sounds in the night that would have startled most, but to her, it was second nature to hear and see everything all at one time. After a bit, and when she slid from the square and into the streets of the housing district, she managed to focus her attentions to the matter at hand, and that, was to find the house she would be calling home, for a bit.
She climbed on top of a nearby house, using the storm drain as an aid to do so. When she reached the top of the building, she knelt down and watched the houses. “Where oh where…” She stared and then a flicker of a smile traced its way over her lips and she was off.
She trotted over the roof tops, jumping the small gaps between them as she moved, preferring the upper hand to the lower, her sight less fuddled with stray lights and shadows alike. After a small jog, she came to a stop once more and then knelt once more, her ass settled on the heals of her leather clad feet, her forearms resting on her knees and her hands dangling over the edge of her knees, limply. She closed her eyes, placing one hand on the roof of the building she was on and listened. She stood again, her lips forming that same semblance of a smile as she now leapt form the rooftop to the cobbled street below.
“Home again, home again…” She said in a happy tone as she near skipped up the pathway that lead to a door she would enter to a house, she would call her resting place.
She walked p the steps and tried the door, locked. She rolled her eyes once and then sighed. “Should have asked for the key, but I guess since I did not, it will have to be done another way.” She murmured to herself. “I hope he doesn’t have a dog.” She then gave a half laugh.
Ainariel reached into a small pouch she had tied about her waist belt and then plucked form it a hairpin. She took the pin and then stuck it in the keyhole and began the tedious work of picking the lock. She was no thief and it took her no less than five minutes before she had the door open, but she had done this before. One doesn’t grow up in a Castle and not know how to open doors they should ought not to. She and her siblings went through many a punishment for being int eh wrong place in the past.
She stepped into the house and looked about, it was evident that this was a single male who had little visitors, but she wouldn’t worry about the condition of the place yet, she would first find her room.
She moved down the hall, and opened up a couple doors, the first she found to be the bathroom, the second obvious where he slept and so, the opened the third and looked around. “This has to be it.” She said, looking at the unfinished appearance of the room, and the most unused state. “Well, I guess this is where I’ll toss myself for the night then.” She stated and then moved to the bed and sat upon it.
After some time, she laid down and looked up at the ceiling, watching a spider spin its web in a corner, and at some point, she didn’t realize when, she slipped off to sleep.

Just as the sun started to rise, Hunt walked up the front steps to his house. It had been a slow night for McMahon, the only other creature to fall in his Hunt having been a single lycan who Hunt had gotten the jump on. He was barely even harmed at all, in fact, the only ding he had was the scrape on his left elbow from when he hit the ground after driving his sword through the back of the monster’s neck.
The door was unlocked, which had to mean that Ainariel had found the place. How she got in was another story since he hadn’t given her the key. Hunt locked the door behind himself when he stepped into his house. After peeking into the living room and kitchen to see if Ainariel was there, Hunt walked down the hall to check the guest room. She hadn’t closed the door, so he could see quite easily that she was there. She was asleep, so Hunt turned around and went back out to the living room.
After taking off all the gear and weapons he carried with him all night and setting them down on the coffee table, Hunt leaned back in the couch and picked up the remote, turned the TV on and started to channel surf. His day was over and it was time to settle in before heading to bed sometime later.

She hadn’t known when she drifted off but she heard the TV come to life in the living room and now, her eyes opened slowly and she looked around, confused for a moment about her surroundings, but that soon all went away and a slight smile drifted over her lips and she sat up, her emerald orbs looking out the open door form her room.
Ainariel stood up, smoothed out the front of her white linen dress and then walked slowly to the doorway, putting one hand on the doorframe and stretched and yawned. She then stepped out into the hall, the sound of the TV drawing you into the living room. Once she got there she looked on the couch and there, all stretched out and very comfortable looking was Hunt. “Uneventful night I would assume.” She told him and then came around and seated herself on the other side of the couch.
She never watched TV, some of the Elves in the Kingdome had been using such things of the human world, but for the most part, Elves stayed pretty much without electrical use and her family was some of them. “You hungry at all?” She then asked, thinking of something she might be able to do for him for allowing her to stay in his home, she was feeling a bit useless at the moment, as he clearly didn’t need her help this day, not that she looked forward to his being harmed, but she honestly felt she wanted to, more than anything else, to make him happy, wanted to help in some way.

Hunt looked up for a moment from the TV when Ainariel walked in to the room. “Good morning.” He said with a friendly smile as he looked at her. “The night was pretty dull. Only had one lycan to kill and it was an easy one to handle too.” He then continued, confirming her assumption of his work. “I haven’t eaten all night though besides my nut mix and rations, so yes, I’d like something to eat.” Hunt had assumed from Ainariel’s question that she was offering food, so replied in kind to accept.
“So you obviously found the place alright.” He then commented, changing the subject in a manner. “And the bed was okay?” he asked after, making sure that her sleeping circumstances were well enough for her. He hadn’t paid any attention at all to the guest room in a long time since he never had any guests. He hadn’t even been sure that he had had it arranged in the first place. Hunt often forgot things and other things tended to meld together. His days generally droned on and continued in their own similarity to each other. His whole life in fact was much like that over the last several years.

Ainariel smiled at him after his short comment about what he’d eaten during the night and then after a short stretch, she turned towards the kitchen and began walking in to it.
“Yes, everything was just fine Hunt, thanks for asking.” She replied as she began to rummage through the cupboards, collecting things to make for breakfast.
She opened the refrigerator and peered inside; not a whole lot to work with, but she would manage. She plucked out a package of eggs and then set them on the counter, reached for the bowls in another cupboard and then began to make breakfast.
After a bit of moving about, mixing this or that and then the sounds of pans sliding around and the smell of bacon frying she finally came back into the living room and handed Hunt a plate full of food.
“I hope it’s ok, you don’t really have a whole lot to choose from, I think I’ll go shopping today when you are asleep.” She told him as she held her own plate in her hand and sat on the other side of the couch.
She looked into the TV and watched the people talking about something having to do with CSF on the news. She ate her breakfast without further comment and once she’d finished, she turned to Hunt again.
“Suddenly has come a long way over the years. CSF kind of puts a damper on your hunting I would guess.” She told him, turning her eyes back to the TV as a commercial for dishwashing liquid came on the set. “Perhaps though, they could still use all the help they can get, as I know not every creature will do as asked.” She gave a short snort. “It would also seem, though, that marketing campaigns for products have not changed so much.” She raised a brow at the commercial and then shook her head. “I’ve never actually watched TV before, seems a bit boring, doesn’t it?” She asked turning her eyes again to Hunt and raising a brow in his general direction.

“This is great.” Hunt said to Ainariel as she handed him the plate of food. “I haven’t eaten this well at home in almost ten years.” Hunt never did any real cooking for himself. Mac ‘n’ cheese was the closest he came to a real meal on most days unless he decided to eat out at the club or some such place. Homemade food was instant rice and hamburger helper to him ever since his parents were killed almost a decade before.
“The CSF classifies me as vigilante, which is a crime. They want me to be licensed to hunt vampires and lycans, but that would require me to abide by the rules they established. If I were to conform and submit to the government laws, I would be bound by protocol, which is the very thing that holds the CSF back from getting things done. They need to be politically correct and safe by the book. I can’t afford to do things their way so they frown on my work, or at least they do on the record. Some individual soldiers have a different opinion, but that doesn’t always matter. A lot of hunters get arrested or otherwise impeded by the government.” Hunt held his plate in one hand while he looked at Ainariel the whole time he spoke. “Most hunters die quite quickly, but all the licensed ones die faster. Protocol holds the CSF back from doing what needs to be done so I do it for them.”
After Hunt had finished with his rant about the CSF and protocol, his eyes turned to the TV while he still faced Ainariel. “Ads are always the same and they always will be.” He said then, smirking a little at the commercial that played while he spoke. “They’re always lame, but some of them are funny anyways. The only problem is that except for beer commercials, you can never remember what the good ones are for.”

Ainariel tilted her head to the side and looked at Hun. She raised a brow and said nothing as he ranted on an on about CSF and their protocol and what not. She then set her plate down in the small end table next to the couch and straightened up, her back against the couch, crossing one firm leg over the next and then took a deep breath as her eyes blinked slowly. By that time, he’d finished speaking and she rested her two hands on her knee, one over the next and straightened pup her head and un-cocked her brow.
“I understand the need for advertising, but honestly, you would think that since people do indeed get paid for these things, they’d come up with something original more often then once a year.” She shrugged and then moved on. She opened her mouth as if to say something, but then shut it again and regarded him for a very long moment. “You know, I don’t think that I ever said you should work with them.” She stated and smiled softly. “I understand that what you do is something they can not, as yes, rules are rules and once a soldier always a soldier, that type of thing however…” She regarded him once again. “Do you think that perhaps the single soldiers do nothing about you because they actually agree with what it is you do? I mean, after all, you are making their jobs much easier you know, as I believe they know as well.” She went on, once more tilting her head to the side. “You need to relax more Hunt, you are very quick to the edge.” She commented in an off hand manner and then chuckled slightly. “And finish with your food before it grows cold and I have to feed it to the stray dogs.” She then said and fell silent for a few more moments.
Ainariel watched him, as she remained silent, her emerald orbs sparking with something more than simply happiness, no, there was definitely something turning in her mind.
“As for food, with what you do, you should eat better. If the monsters that go bump in the night don’t’ get to you, your other habits will.” She stated lightly.
She knew it was something that she probably shouldn’t have taken note of until she’d known him a bit longer, but, figured he seemed the straight forward kind of human he was, he’ d not mind so much her berating his eating habits.
“Is there anything you need in town? I’ll pick it up for you if you want.” She then stated, turning the subject once more, as she seemed to do a lot, jumping here and then there, her mind whisking off as soon as she had finished with one thought, or perhaps even before she’d finished with it.

Hunt opened his mouth as if to say something but then shut it again just as Ainariel had done a moment earlier. He had had an awkward look on his face when she was speaking and that look stayed as he started to speak after his awkward hesitation. “No.” he started simply and quietly. “I was just explaining how you were right. The CSF does put a damper on my hunting as you say. I’m sorry though, I’m not very good with people. I don’t usually have anyone around to talk to, so I guess I’m a little rusty.” He then looked away from her and glanced briefly at the TV but he wasn’t actually looking at it.
“Every lycan is someone’s brother, someone’s father or daughter. Every vampire is someone’s mother, someone’s sister or friend. Those people aren’t who they used to be but their loved ones still feel that they are. I kill what’s left of the people they all cared about. I’m a murderer to many men, a monster to many too. People judge me quickly when they know what I do.” Hunt hadn’t looked back at Ainariel since he looked away, but he still wasn’t really looking at the TV. It was more like he was staring at something beyond the walls. He never usually spoke about anything to other people, so explaining himself was quite unusual too. Hunt finally looked back at Ainariel before he continued to speak. “I’ve been called many things and even attacked by the people I saved because the beast I’d slain was someone they loved.”
As he finished speaking, Hunt scooped up some of his eggs and ate them. He didn’t respond in any way to what Ainariel had said about his eating habits. She was right, but he didn’t care to comment. “I don’t have much money.” He said then, starting in on his answer to what he wanted from town. “I spend most of it on silver and other supplies. I’ve got everything here that I really need though, thanks.” He never did have much in his cupboards besides the bare basics. Flour and rice were pretty staple along with potatoes and the occasional jug of milk that was more of a novelty to him. He’d lived that way ever since he was sixteen and it had become quite normal to him.

Ainariel listened to Hunt as he spoke, her eyes remaining on him even as he looked away and begun to stare at nothing. She could tell he wasn’t watching the set as he spoke, knew he was looking inside rather than out as he spoke, and could hear it in his tone as he did. She picked up on a lot of his tones or actions, more so than most could have, or would have and when he had finished speaking, she smiled warmly over at him and then sighed.
“I wasn’t asking if you had money, I asked if you wanted anything.” She stated and then shook her head slowly. “You know, you are going to have to get used to someone offering you things with me around.” She laughed slightly. “I like to get things for friends.” She finished and then it was her turn to look out into the nothingness of the space between her eyes and the wall beyond the TV.
“I have found…” She began and then paused as if thinking of how to say what it was she wanted. “… That, humans tend to hold onto their loved ones far beyond their natural time, that even when they have turned into such creatures that would kill them, they still find it too hard to let go and would rather die than save the one they love from their hellish existence.” She commented. “Selfish, or not.. I don’t know it goes both ways” She ended that line of conversation and then came back around again and turned her emerald orbs back on Hunt.
“Now, is there anything you want from town, and I didn’t say need, I did say want.” She told him and raised a brow at him again.

Hunt decided to leave the deeper conversation as it was and not say anything back to it. He had had enough of that kind of talk for the time being, especially since he wasn’t very used to talking much at all. He was taken a little aback by her explanation of her offer and he felt kind of dumb for not catching it the first time. He usually never got the chance to notice, but he was actually so socially inept that it was starting to get embarrassing. There was something else too, something more than just his social ineptitude that embarrassed him even more since she came around. Perhaps he had grown a little crush on her. He did certainly find her very pretty and attractive in other ways as well, but he wasn’t about to analyze his own emotional psyche.
“Umm,” Was all that Hunt could come out with for a few seconds as he sat there thinking, his eyes shifting from side to side as he tried as hard as he could to think of something he wanted. “Maybe a jug of milk if that’s alright.” He finally said with a smile as he looked up at her, thinking of the only thing he ever got himself for a treat. Hunt was proud of himself for finding something to ask for like she wanted. He had lived on necessity for so long that he really couldn’t think of want anymore. Milk was as greedy as he’d been for himself in all the years that he had been on his own. Even when he managed to get a little extra money, he would spend it on replacing some of the weapons that he had trashed or lost.

Ainariel ran her teeth over her bottom lip and then grinned as she watched him fret to find something to ask for. She had figured as much, that this man truly had no desires above what he knew; this was something she would change in time though at the same time, something she found quite desirable in him, almost adorable.
Her eyes twinkled with delight when he finally cam up with, milk, as an item for your to treat him with and she inclined her head to him, her eyes never once leaving his. “Very well, milk it is then.” She stated and then dropped the subject for his benefit, though her mind was working on things to get for him that didn’t consist of edible quality.
Ainariel was beginning to like him more and more as she sat and talked with him. HE was a desirable male, very nicely built, quite but as well opinionated. She could imagine them sitting and debating for long periods at a time in the future, once he became more accustomed to having her around that is.
The future… She smiled at the thought, though he wouldn’t have a clue as to why. She smiled because she had just come the to realization that she had accepted the fact that she wanted to stay here with this man.
“Are you finished?” She asked, looking down at his near empty plate.

Hunt’s eyes shifted around a little more from side to side as he watched her slide her teeth over her lip and smile a moment later. He had no idea what those things meant and couldn’t help but wonder very curiously. He was perhaps a little more interested in her than he thought he should have been, but he didn’t get the opportunity to wonder those kinds of things very often. “Thank you.” He said after only a moment, smiling at the thought of having some milk in his fridge again.
“Umm,” He resounded again as Ainariel asked about his breakfast’s completion and his eyes shifted around another couple times to finally rest on his plate for a second. As quickly as his eyes could settle on his plate, he scooped up the last of the food into one giant sthingyful and slid it into his mouth. “Now I am.” He said then after he swallowed his food.

Ainariel grinned widely as he scooped up the last bit of food and then said he was done; yet one more thing to like about him, he seemed so innocent at times.
She reached out and took the plate from him then and after a moment’s hesitation where her hand brushed against his, she turned and placed his plate on hers and then stood up, settling her empty glass on the two plates and walked back into the kitchen. When she came back out, she stood behind Hunt and looked down at him and then raised her hands up and set them on his shoulders and began to rub them slowly.
“Well, you certainly need more help than you look like you do.” She commented as she massaged his shoulders, her hands never faltering and seemingly becoming warmer and warmer as they moved he would begin to feel warmth spreading down his arms and back even though her hands only moved over his shoulders.
She had wanted to help him n some small way and so figured this would be it for today. It wasn’t as though she felt he needed her help but more for the reason that she wanted to help him, make him comfortable, though she honestly had no clue as to why she did other than she generally like the man. She found it odd however that she seemed to be growing more and more attached to him with every passing moment, it was all very much new to her and it frightened her a little bit. She’d only met the man last night and here she was wishing to be close to him. She figured she’ d have a lot of things to think through during the day as she shopped for items for his home. “You know, if you want, you could take your shirt off and lay down so that I could more effectively do this.” She then stated in her usual quiet and soft voice, though if he was listening, there would be something a bit more behind it, something of her questioning herself.

Hunt didn’t say anything for a little while after Ainariel took his empty plate. He had said quite a lot for one day already in the short time since he got home. He sat there watching the television, as uninteresting as it was. The news was what was on just then and since he didn’t have cable there wasn’t anything else to watch. The news was all controlled and edited by the government, which was what made it so dull. Nothing was ever true to reality. The next sound that came out of his mouth was a pleasant moan that came when Ainariel started to rub his shoulders.
Hunt’s head leaned back and his eyes closed as she continued to rub his shoulders. No one had ever done that for him since his mother did when he was a little boy. He didn’t really need it so much when he was a kid, but it always felt good. The last eight years though had really added up on him, and the pain that came from Ainariel’s rubbing was extremely pleasant. His eyes opened up when Ainariel offered that he could remove his shirt to get more of a rub and he didn’t hesitate at all. He was too inept to realize any motivation behind the offer and so didn’t catch a thing. He was through with wondering about her kind gestures for the day and he was through with talking very much for a little while. He was just excited to be getting a back rub. Hunt quickly pulled his shirt off and kneeled down on the floor in front of the couch where he sat. Some of the blood from his one fight that night had sunk en through his shirt and was dried up over his chest and abdomen. His muscles were sore and tired, so he could easily use the rest. Even though he had been wearing all his clothes and he didn’t get very shredded, he was dirty through and through. There was the small coffee table around there, but he moved right next to it and lied down.
“Thanks.” He finally said as he laid face down on the ground.

Ainariel waited fro him to find a proper place to reside so that she could further help his tired muscles. Once he’d lain down, she moved back over to him, at first, kneeling beside him, her knees at where his right hip would be. She placed her hands on his lower back, one on either side, where his kidneys would be and started there, her near hot hands pressing gently, yet firmly along his back. She moved her hands upwards along his spine and out to the sides until she reached his shoulders and then worked her way back down again.
Five minutes had passed this way, when she finally sighed and then removed her hands for a moment as she moved over so that she would be straddling his ass, one leg on either side. “I hope you don’t mind, it’s just easier this way.” She commented and then she really began working his back, sides, shoulders and neck up to just below his skull.
She noticed several scares over his back, and as her hands moved over them, they began to disappear, growing lighter with each pass, the once taught white skin becoming once more softer and more supple, and near to fully gone after a few passes, though being old scares, it would be impossible to completely heal them, she did what she could to make them near non-existent, even if he probably wouldn’t even notice, she smiled as she continued.
She might have started some sort of conversation with him at that time, but she more or less knew he really wasn’t in the talking mood anymore, and besides, he would probably just fall to sleep under her hands in a while anyway, best to let him rest, was her decision. So, she began softly humming a soothing tune in her magical, healing voice as she worked on his extremely taught muscles.
