Gliding on silent wings, black as the night around him, Demitri the streak of white across the sky made an abrupt dive into a tree by a small lake. The water glimmered slightly in the light of realms two larger moons. The largest a lopsided greyis half, mottled craters and depressions easily seen in the cloudless ever night sky. The next a deep orange from the mass of iron on its surface full and glinting slightly from the light reflecting off its surface, and her third and smallest moon a faint sliver on the horizon. A small ruffle of leaves and a faint tap was all that could be heard as the winged man alighted in the boughs of this tree. Stark contrast to the stiff and glimmering black of the night water, he was stark white with hair to match, his eyes and wings folded as they were, were as black as the night around him.

Trouble was his name tonight, the Fallen King had simply come to stir things up a bit. He had no orders, and didn't any. No one had come here for so long even the animals wouldn't touch the place. Shrugging with this last thought he spread his wings to slow his descent as he dropped silently from the tree, with a small rustle of leaves and a light flap of wings the lake began to stir. The air came gently and slowly to life as a small fire appeared on the shore. His bright white face alight in the flames as he played life giver and touched his hands to the ground by the fire side pulling up mounds of dust and pulling swirling water to shape them into programmed life forms. All Demitri needed this night was a good ploy to pull some wandering blood suckers into the light.

With a flick of the wrist and the scent of blood in the air all that was needed now was to wait. And he did just that. Flicked his wrist casually calling forth a slight drizzle of blood as his burned like embers for a moment and a small rain of his own blood fell gently over the make shift camp site. With that he trotted off over to the far edge and hopped to a tree branch, enfolding himself completely in the shadows of the boughs around him.

The night was so quiet and the smell of the fresh cool air filled her nostrils. She ran it seemed on an endless trek to nowhere, fast. Her feet made no sound and her breathing was as steady as the motion of her feet as they hit the soft earth, one after another as the muscles in her calves flexed and loosened with each stride.

The moons in the sky were a delight; she always liked it when there was at least one full moon, which usually meant that there would be other hunters out in the night. There was always something special about Evernight, always something that made her heart rise up, as she would take these long runs through the hunting grounds. The Lycans of Evernight could actually be seen on these nights, in their true form and she often loved to watch the feral animals as they hunted, she liked the way they moved together in the pack, to her it was amazingly beautiful.

There it was, the swift smell of blood, the metallic hint that something had recently been killed. Her lips turned up into a genuine smile and she turned toward the smell, too late, she knew to have witnessed the kill, but all the same, it was only one and she knew that if it had been Lycan, it would be only the start.

She changed her course, and in a few more moments, she stopped running altogether. Something wasn’t quite right here, the smell of a camp fire? That meant a human must be about, and during a full moon, that was a very odd happening indeed. She wouldn’t allow this odd behavior though stop her, her feet moved forward quietly and cautiously now, one step at a time as her sharp eyes scanned the area to smells or sights of another vampire, or Lycan… She found neither.

“Áõôüò åßíáé ðáñÜîåíïò” She said out loud, her eyes moving about the area as she stood still a good 100 yards from the camp area, her body as still as any statue, her mind displacing the metallic smells that now seeme dto be beckoning her animalistic urge to feed.

The familiar sound of the rustling branches as the shadow shrouded man moved lower in the boughs. He had just heard someone, or something running. Demitri wanted to be closer to the ground in order to react as swiftly as possible. The scent of his own powerful blood on the air, the slight breeze gently swirling it around, stirring up. His eyes shot to one side, and there they were neaking in the shadows. He could hear them whispering to each other on the breeze, arguing amongst themselves as to who would get first dibs, and speaking quite carelessly of how they would dispatch their victims.

At that he let himself drop from the branch and crouched next to the tree, a shadow oozing from a branch and connecting with the ground, they never saw him to intent on their own hunger. He wondered if vampires could have heart attacks. He crept forward a bit and looked around the tree to where he heard the running, waiting for whatever it was to come into view. Lycans would spoil his fun. They would come for the kill and take out as many of everything as they could. No worries though, he knew he would have caught scent of them by now. Still canvas and encased by the comfort of shadow he changed his form. His bulk expanded as he crouched, stretched his wings slightly, and shook his head as his flying red hair came to life, mentally telling it to go limp. His armor was there, he could feel it, always a part of him glowing in the the shadows, fully charged, pulsating in the night bright and red. His tail shot forth in a rampant explosion of bright well flesh before curling around his legs and becoming part of the shadowy illusion itself.

He looked around again they were still coming and the feet were still moving. The fallen King rose as the vampires entered his camp, walking slow and determined, no sound issued from his bulk, no creak of armor made so perfectly precise, the shadows engulfing him oozing slowly out from the trees and the ground around him, he made his way behind the first and releasing the shadows he stood and tapped the fellow on the shoulder. "What," he snarled in a whisper as he spun violently around to stare the fallen directly in the chest. His mouth opened wide to scream, but Demitri was smater than that, his hand clamped easily around the vampys mouth and broke his jaw. Demitri grinned and tossed the lichen behind him into the trunk of the tree he had come from. "David," came to low sound of a whisper further in. The others made their way back slowly. “Áõôüò åßíáé ðáñÜîåíïò,” issued a a voice from afar, loud and on the wind. The vampires stopped and looked around, silence.

With all the swiftness he possessed, which is quite alot, Demitri shot forward and snatched up two of the three remaining lichens one in each hand by the throat. Black eyes pulling in all the light from his skin, surrounded by fire, he squeezed on those two thrats as he shot his tail out the last, gripping his ankle and hanging him upside down. A scream was issued on the silence as Demitri swung his considerable weight and flung the one caught in his tail towards the trees he came from. "Do you think I am going to kill you?" He uttered at the other two, quivering and silence ensued and one wet himself. Demitri shook his head at this, he didnt know that was possible, disgusted he dropped the two lichens, "Ugh, god have some friggen dignity man. Fuck!" He waved his hand and the campsite, the entire scene was gone changed entirely back to its original form. He stalked off toward the lake, changing his form back his human appearance his wings folded neatly against his back as he plopped in the grass cross legged and brooding.

The two forgotten vampires running doggedly away screaming and yelling, dragging their 'slack jawed' friend behind them screaming at each other about who was to blame. Heading full tilt breaking branches and twigs on the ground no care for stealth so scared were they that they headed straight toward the voice.

Ennet watched what was unfolding in front of her, she narrowed her eyes now at the fleeing vampires that the winged angel of death had scared. She growled as they neared her, obviously running to her for aid, aid they would not be getting.

The moment the four vampires reached her, they began sputtering comments about what had happened and Ennet took a deep breath, the heart in her chest pumping her blood furiously and she wrinkled her nose. “Did you wet yourself?’ She asked, cutting off their ramble with her words. “You are vampires, you are above this sort of human-like behavior, I am sorely disappointed in all of you.” She then growled.

The vampires cowed back form her, their eyes widening more so than they did even when the Fallen King had them in his grasp. She was their Elder, she was Ennet, THE frikin’ vampire and they had just realized what they had done.

The three dropped their friend, their hands unable to hold him up any longer as Ennet took a few steps towards them, a deep growl emitting from inside her chest, reverberating outward to rebound off every object in the vicinity. Then, with a quickness unlike that of any normal vampire, Ennet grabbed up the one male with the broken jaw and tore his throat form his neck and dropped him to the ground, doing what the King of the Fallen would not do in her territory. The others stood still, as still as stone as they watched their friend fall to the ground, dead.

“Go home.” She said in disgust. “Go home and never grace the feeding grounds with your spineless presence again, this place is for vampires, not worms.” She snapped and then without so much as another glance at the pathetic pieces of work, she walked towards where she knew Demitri to be seated.

Ennet walked up behind the Fallen King and stood still, the only movement was her long blonde locks flowing out behind her as a wisp of wind caught them in its grasp. “That was not very nice you know.” She stated and then moved to his side and took up a piece of earth next to him, bending her knees and wrapping her arms about them as she laid her head on her hands and looked over at him.

“What is it with you? It seems the last time, you were out playing as well, you get bored very easily, don’t you?” She questioned.

Ennet was quite a different creature when in Evernight than she was when in Suddenly. Here, she was a vampire, THE vampire, there, she was simply a woman, tending to the children of a race she had left long ago though was never really a part of.

"I was a being of light," he said in response to her questions, then he was silent for a moment considering his words. "Contaminated by Chaos," he smirked and snorted his derision at that acussation by his creator, "I was his first, so naturally I could not have been perfect like the rest. No, of course I couldn't, he put too much of himself in me for that." Demitri sighed and wrapped his wings around himself as if he were cold.

"She took me into her embrace, willingly, and has never questioned my decisions. Naturally I am born to Chaos, despite my maker. I never hurt anyone, it was against my nature, until he took himself away. Now I am solely a Chaotic entity. A trickster, prone to do what he will on a whim, even been known to spout off at her if she slights me. I think it's why she likes me and mine. We dont fear her we respect her." Demitri chose this time to turn and look Ennet in her eyes, the small glint of light in his own reflecting the movement back and forth between hers. "I just like to play, like a big damn dog. Of course, I am also protective of my master. One thing He never knew. Pity, I think," he strained his neck until it popped gently under his skin, "I am a great warrior, but I have a free will. Such a mistake is costly in those who adore absolute control."

He smiled slightly at her, wondering where his wife was, he needed a hug.

Ennet listened to his words, listened to his story, it was unexpected, all she wanted was a yes or no to her question, what she got was his life’s story in a nutshell, so to speak. She did not mind at all though, it gave her some further insight to who he was and what he was about, to this end, she was intrigued to find he was so close to Chaos, that in and of itself was enough to call him friend to her.

“Chaos…” She said the word as if contemplating the true meaning of it. “The first voice to my consciousness, the only voice in my mind until the day I was brought into this world.” She said in a monotone voice. “My mother, my father, Chaos, my creator.” She whispered. “We do indeed have that in common at least. Well perhaps a bit more as well. I too like to play, though perhaps not on a daily basis, I do tend to have other things to accomplish.” She chuckled slightly, know he too was not always playing; no one with the ranking of King, Elder or Queen would have the comfort of playtime 24-7.

“You seem though, a bit… offish tonight Demitri.” She then stated, his mannerisms told her that he really wasn’t quite into ‘the game’ this evening. “Might I inquire as to the reasoning behind such a gloomy mood sir?” She then asked

Her words washed over him, like so much water over a cliff. Powerful yet relaxing. He relaxed his wings folding them back against his back and smiled broad at her like a little kid in a candy store, and looked up at the moons bright in the sky.

"I'm not gloomy, or offish really. Just reflecting, I wanted to do something tonight, so I figured I'd start a war. This marks another millenia for me. Lich's and lycan's what better fight could you find." He took a slow breath, "But I got here and figured I'd take more pleasure from a pants peeing vampire screaming at the night." He laughed then and flopped on his back spread his wings wide as he went. This seemed to effectively slow his fall as he went, culminating in a nice poof a dust throw from his wing tips.

Ennet looked behind her for a moment and then sighed lightly. ‘You mean, a pants wetting worm.” She replied to his comment as she watched him float to the ground in a puff of dust and now lay there staring up at the moons.

Ennet was quite for some time after he had finished speaking, and she once more looked behind her where the dead vampire lay, his throat ripped out in a moment of anger by her being upset over there weakness. “You know, it has been a very long time since anything has happened here in Evernight, it seems to me that my vampires are becoming soft, too soft, they can’t even handle a little play time with you…” She laughed slightly. “Maybe your thought on a war between the Lycans and Vampires isn’t too far off from what needs to happen to smack these lazy wanna-be vampires in the ass and get them thinking about what they are.” She commented and then laid back herself, though not as dramatically as Demitri, she simply stretched and after putting her hands behind her head she laid on the soft earth and stared up at the three moons shining up in the heavens. “Though I am not too certain that I would enjoy killing Lycans, as dog-like as they are, they have become like pets to me and I do quite enjoy watching them… play on a full moon.” She commented and then fell silent again.

There was a moment again of silence as the two lay on their backs looking up at the moons above and then Ennet sighed once more and say halfway up, supporting herself on her elbows and turned to look down at Demitri. “You know… you really aren’t such a bad guy, I am glad you came to my realm tonight, after our first meeting, I was ready to call you a few names not so adorable.” She laughed. “I have a question though…” She started and then sat up the remainder of the way, crossing her legs, one over the next and looked out over the small lake in front of them. “Why do you always seem to have to act like an ass to the humans?” She put it out there as bluntly as it was and then laughed slightly at her bluntness, something not always of her nature, but she was still a bit offended by her own kind at that moment.

Demitri let his wings sink back into his body as he sat up, their black feathers disappearing into his back. He rolled up into a sitting position and pulled the leather off the bottom of his braided white hair, shaking it out, thinking on what Ennet had said. He smiled gently, and after a reflection of his own upon the memory of the humans he had known. All were long dead now and waiting with whichever God they chose, for whatever it was that was promised to them. He took a slow deep breath, and picked p a rock in his right hand. "We, you and I, and most others that roam here, as pathetic as they are, happen to be everlasting. Although, you and I prolly wont ever truly die as they will. A war will save many human lives as well as cost the vampires and lycans greatly. I am not a fan of peace, but i endure it. I am not born of Chaos, but I cherish it." He skipped the rock then across the lake, then turned to face Ennet squarely, "I am not an ass to humans, just those who think they are better than the rest. I choose the side I am playing for, and sometimes, when Chaos calls...." he smiled again trailing off and taking another breath before continuing,"I cause havoc by pissing off, or trying to piss off those who think they are the best, and then disappearing. Which reminds me....I think that wittle mage needs another visit." He chuckled to himself, and raised his hands to let Ennet know he was just kidding, at leat for the time being.

He sat up onto his knees and lowered himself down onto his calves. "What about you? Why do you say your vampires are weak? Would you who cherish all things living, I'm guessing here, allow them to kill indescrimately to satisfy their own hunger?"

Ennet laughed slightly at his question. It was a bold one but coming from one such as himself, it was somehow, appropriate as well. She had allowed her own creations, her vampires to become what t is they are today, had she been perhaps a bit less forgiving in her nature, she would never have allowed the vampires to get so, ‘soft’, as she thought it.

“First off, about that Sorcerer, if it is the one known as Seebo you speak, he is righteous in his own ways, he seems to be pure good, until he is enraged, I have heard of his dealings with the one known as Dhakham, that filthy Master Mage and as well one of my own vampires.” She chuckled slightly. “It seems our Master thief has been duped into becoming what he, himself, despises again and again in the face of pure darkness.” She sighed. “You would be best to leave him at his own lest you wish, of course to play into the desires of an old Elvin Vampire who hates all things good.” She shook her head. “Yes, Seebo seems to be the one to pick on, he is, after all easily put to anger by our kind…” She trailed off, her saying their kind of course she meant the direct descendants or disciples of Chaos herself. Ennet knew Demitri was brother to her in this way, and she was more than willing to admit it, she kind of liked his child-like mischievousness, she found it refreshing, though aggravating at times.

Ennet raised her knees up and laid her head on top of them, her long blonde locks splayed out and over her elbows and knees as her brilliant emerald orbs gazed at her company. “As for my vampires…” She regarded him for a small moment before continuing. “If they hunt in Suddenly, then they are subject to being hunted by whatever predators they might run into, it is not their home, not my home to hunt in.” She told him and then sighed. “Alas, I do fear that they have found the pickings there too easily taken for their own good though, and this might be part of the cause for their weakening state of minds. They are no longer forced to be cunning, they walk about as if Gods themselves in the other land, leaving this area of Evernight free from their terror making, as well, the humans of this realm brave once more, perhaps it will come a time for me to put a stop to it all, force them once more to actually hunt for their lives, instead of for the pleasure of doing so.” She nearly growled, her emerald orbs flashing with sudden anger.

Demitri had hit a soar point with her, and it wasn’t at all the fact that he was here, taunting her vampires into anything, it was the fact that her vampires had begun to pull at the restraints of their true God, and she was beginning to tire of it all.

Demitri stood, his excessively large frame sinking as he stood back into that of his more preferred human form. His wings still folded against his back, he looked more angel now than demon. His white hair fallen down his back and over his bare upper torso where the spinal tattoo wrapped several times in close succession before making its way down his left leg was easily visible. "I do see your point, my friend." He bowed slightly to the vampire queen, "I need to be off, there a few more things I must do to finish this beginning. If you ever wish some company please, do tell me. I am interested in learning more about you."

His wings slowly unfurled as he waited for her to acknowledge him, he would not be rude to this one, not tonight. Demitri cocked his head slightly to one side listening to the sounds of the night wondering if anymore foolish vampires might happen upon the queen, the thought disappeared quickly.

Ennet looked up at him as he moved to standing, his form changing into that of his human-like angelic form. She smiled slightly at this, he was a creature of considerable beauty, it was a certain fact, and even his darkness was beautiful, she wondered suddenly if his Queen was as intriguing as he.

“Very well then, I do hope you find what you seek and as well, drag whatever manner of creature out of hiding you desire…” She paused, she knew what he wanted to gain from this ‘beginning’ and still, she condoned it with her every fiber, knowing that she would become caught in it’s web, perhaps already was. “Good night Demitri.” She finished and then turned her head to gaze out over the lake once more.

“Interested in learning more of myself then are you?” She stated with a slight quirk in her voice. That statement of his seemed to amuse her for some reason, perhaps it was because she had always tried to keep herself in a position that would lead others away from wanting to know, or perhaps that she thought he above the wonderment that was the true vampire, either way it had struck a sort of humorous attention in her mind. “Perhaps we will meet again soon enough, perhaps over a drink next time, instead of a dead corpse.” She laughed slightly, once more turning to gaze up at him as he prepared to leave.

"Perhaps, over a drink then." His reply was calm and amicable, before he turned completely away from her, his white hair shoulder length and flowing as he turned. "Good evening to you Ennet, and may peace be with you." Demitri smiled to himself at this point, his wings folded around him and slowly his body distended as if it were and unravelling cloud of dark smoke to drift away on the slight breeze that wasn't quite there.
